Ainra comes to Priderock as a young lioness after hearing that Mufasa's Betrothed has run off, hoping the young King will choose her to be his Queen. Instead, she attracts the attention of Ahadi, who takes her as HIS mate. Frustrated with her lot in life, Ainra eventaully leaves the Pridelands, kidnapping the infant Shanni and raising her as her own and hoping to use her as a weapon against Scar. To become the power behind the throne once Shanni is Queen.

But as always, her plans fail, and she is left with nothing.

I think even though Ainra was turned "bad', she got redemption with when she talked to Shanni about chasing her dreams. It proves that even through everything she's done, there's still a part of her that's good...even if it quickly covers itself up.
