Kiara's mind and soul are clear and bright as an unclouded summer day, and she is raised in an environment that coddles and protects her. She is never allowed to experience life, and so never sees its darkest parts -- there is no guile, no subterfuge, no shades of grey within the confines of her heart.
Kiara is the fifth child and third daughter of King Simba and Queen Nala. Due to the loss of his four other children, Simba is overprotective of his final daughter. He wants her safe, but he also wants her to never have to deal with the bad things in life. So he forbids her to ever hear of her siblings, and focuses all of his energy on training her to be Queen. Kiara isn't even allowed to play very much, nor associate with anyone her own age (for fear they will end up betraying her, as he believes Nuka betrayed Kopa and the twins). Since she is ignorant of what causes her father's behavior, Kiara chaffs under his stern and restrictive rules. So when she meets Kovu, a lion who seemingly lives without rules, she is immediately smitten. She wants his life -- she wants freedom.
As an adult, Kiara is much the same as an overgrown child. She has never really learned how to interact with others, or how to work out disagreements with them. Simba even forbids her to learn to hunt, as he knows that a hunting accident killed his grandmother Uru. He is forced to allow her to go through the rite of adulthood, as the pride insists, but Kiara doesn't know the first thing about HOW to hunt, just faint traces of leonine instinct. Once Kovu enters the picture, however, everything begins to change.
I redid Kiaras and added both my "adult face" for her, and the new "TLK Movie Colors" I devised for her (ORIGINAL). I dulled the colors a tad. Hopefully she's a little less bright to you guys.
